David Icke (born 29 April 1952) is an English conspiracy theorist and writer. After a short career as a goalkeeper in the English football league (retiring due to rheumatism), he became a football commentator on television for the BBC. He was briefly the presenter of the Corporation's Grandstand programme, had longer stints as a presenter of snooker and indoor bowls on the BBC. For a few years, he was an activist in the Green Party of England and Wales. Icke was sacked from the BBC in 1990 for failing to pay the poll tax and resigned from the Green Party in 1991.More
